Features
- A broad 40˚- 78˚ angular range allows the system to analyze diverse samples, from small organics and large proteins to metallic nanoparticles and cells. A single scan captures both gas and liquid environments, and PureKinetics&trade enables real-time bulk effect separation
- Parallel injections to 2 fluidic channels
- Controlled liquid flow conditions with peristaltic pump
- Manual filling of injection loops required
- Optionally instrument can be equipped with up to 4 different wavelengths measured from each liquid channel enabling detection of thickness and refractive index or conformation changes
- Navi™ 200 OTSO includes basic control software. Optional modules offer advanced analysis: LayerSolver for thickness/RI, and TraceDrawer for affinity/kinetics determination
- MP-SPR Navi™ instruments utilize optical RI matching elastomer and therefore, sensors are very easy to exchange and remove for further analysis with other methods such as AFM or microscopy
- Open design enables convenient access to the easily removable flow cell, as well as to tubing, pump and injection valves
- Complement with electrochemistry, high chemical resistant and gas flow cells as well as fluorescence setup provides combined or validation measurements
- The instrument enables attachment of a separate autosampler, pump, degasser or even own microfluidic sample preprocessing cartridge

Thin film measurement using MP-SPR Navi 200 OTSO
Multi-parametric surface plasmon resonance (MP-SPR) enables precise measurement of thin inorganic layer thickness and refractive index without light passing through the sample, eliminating interference from opaque or complex materials. Unlike ellipsometry, MP-SPR analyzes reflected light from the sensor’s backside, accommodating metal films (3.7 Å–100 nm) and transparent layers up to micrometers. The system also evaluates real-time interactions with gases (ethanol, toluene vapors), liquids (solvents, serum), and environmental factors (temperature, pH, electric potential). The semi-automated 200 OTSO MP-SPR instrument features dual-channel fluidics, integration with electrochemistry/fluorescence, and multi-wavelength analysis (up to 4 wavelengths) for simultaneous determination of thickness, refractive index, and optical dispersion. This allows applications in antifouling coating tests, biocompatibility studies, and dynamic conformation monitoring.

Additional wavelengths
Simultaneous multi-wavelength SPR measurements, using two to four wavelengths, provide accurate thickness and refractive index data. Three or four wavelengths remove the need for additional assumptions. This technique is vital for material characterization, vesicle analysis, and live cell studies. Navi™ instruments support two wavelengths, while the OTSO, VASA, and NAALI models offer four.
MP-SPR sensor slides
BioNavis provides high-quality MP-SPR sensor slides, compatible with all Navi™ instruments, for precise measurements. Our diverse range caters to various applications. The user-friendly slide holder simplifies ex situ functionalization via spin coating, Lb, self-assembly, CVD, or ALD.
