TABLET FRIABILITY TESTING

Tablet friability testing is an essential quality control method used to evaluate the mechanical strength and durability of tablets during handling, packaging, and transportation. The test involves rotating a sample of tablets in a drum with a fixed baffle, subjecting them to controlled mechanical stress. After testing, tablets are examined for breakage, chipping, and weight loss, which is expressed as a percentage of total mass loss.

Pharma Test friability testing instruments are fully compliant with current USP, EP, and JP pharmacopeia standards, ensuring reliable and reproducible results for pharmaceutical quality control. Each system is supplied ready for immediate use with standard Roche friability drums included.

For enhanced flexibility, optional abrasion drums and anti-static coated drums are available to support a wider range of testing requirements and reduce electrostatic effects during operation.
