Transducers for Vantage® NXT Research Ultrasound Systems
Verasonics Vantage® NXT Research Ultrasound Systems support a wide range of transducers designed for biomedical research, advanced imaging development, and NDE/NDT applications. The open and flexible system architecture allows researchers to select probes based on frequency range, element configuration, and application requirements, without being locked into a single probe design.
Transducers can be supplied by Verasonics and its technology partners or developed by researchers for custom and experimental applications.

Supported Transducer Types
Linear Array Transducers
Linear array probes are commonly used for biomedical imaging, flow studies, elastography, and high-resolution research imaging. These transducers are suitable for applications such as vascular imaging, small animal research, and tissue characterisation.
Phased Array Transducers
Phased array transducers provide electronic beam steering and focusing, making them ideal for cardiac research, dynamic imaging, and NDE/NDT applications where angled insonification is required.
Convex / Curved Array Transducers
Curved array transducers enable wider fields of view and are often used in deeper tissue imaging and experimental biomedical research.
High-Frequency & Specialty Transducers
For laboratory-based and pre-clinical research, high-frequency transducers (up to 60 MHz) support applications requiring fine spatial resolution, such as microvascular imaging and acoustic microscopy.
Custom & Research Probes
Vantage NXT systems are widely used for custom transducer development, allowing researchers to connect experimental arrays, prototype designs, and single-element probes for acoustic physics and signal processing studies.
Key Benefits for Researchers
- Broad compatibility with biomedical and industrial transducers
- Support for low- to high-frequency research probes
- Direct access to raw RF data from connected transducers
